Job Description
The Operational Readiness Manager is responsible for leading and delivering Operational Readiness and Transition (ORAT) activities to ensure that new or transformed assets can operate safely, effectively, and as intended from day one.
The role works closely with programme, project, design, construction, and commissioning teams to align delivery with operational requirements, bridging the gap between construction completion and live operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the delivery of Operational Readiness and Transition activities across assigned projects or workstreams.
* Develop and implement operational readiness plans, transition strategies, and go-live approaches.
* Ensure alignment between design, construction, commissioning, and operational requirements.
* Coordinate readiness activities across clinical, operational, workforce, and support functions.
* Identify, assess, and manage operational readiness risks, issues, and dependencies.
* Support the development and implementation of operating models, workflows, and service transition plans.
* Work closely with planning and project controls teams to ensure programmes support commissioning, training, and transition activities.
* Support workforce readiness through coordination of training, mobilisation, and change activities.
* Monitor readiness progress and report status, risks, and mitigations to stakeholders.
* Support commissioning, handover, and transition to operations, ensuring continuity of service.
* Embed lessons learned and continuous improvement across readiness and transition activities.
Qualifications
* Experience delivering Operational Readiness activities within complex projects or programmes.
* Background in operational delivery, facilities, healthcare, infrastructure, or similar environments.
* Experience working alongside project management, planning, and construction teams.
* Understanding of commissioning, handover, and transition processes.
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in complex delivery environments.
* Strong coordination and delivery skills.
* Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement capability.
* Comfortable working in complex, fast-paced programme environments.
