The Great Southern Killarney has a wonderful opportunity for a passionate Gardener to join our amazing team.
The successful candidate will assist in ensuring that Hotel Gardens including lawn, shrub and annual planting are in pristine condition throughout the year and is responsible for the maintenance, upkeep and further development of the grounds.
They will need to have a good background in gardening with a strong interest in horticulture.
Responsibilities Include Assisting with:
* Seasonal planting, maintenance and further development of planting areas
* Mowing, edging, and fertilizing lawns.
* Weeding and mulching landscape beds.
* Trimming hedges, shrubs, and small trees.
* Removing dead, damaged, or unwanted trees.
* Planting and pruning, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
* Watering lawns, landscapes, and gardens.
* Monitoring and maintaining plant health.
* Improving and maintenance of lawn areas to a high standard
Candidate requirements
* An understanding of planting and maintaining a wide range of plants is essential, as well as good knowledge of grass care and lawn maintenance.
* Must be self-motivated individual able to manage oneself effectively and work as part of a team.
* Good Horticultural knowledge of Plants including identification, care and Disease management.
* Experienced in the use of Hedge cutting equipment, Blowers, and mowing equipment and have full Driving License.
* Knowledge of appropriate and safe usage of fertilizers, soil conditioners and pesticides
* Thorough and clean work methods and attention to detail
* EU / Irish Passport holders only – we cannot engage with candidate who would require sponsorship / work visas / permits
* Experience in a relevant position
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Be well-presented and maintain a professional image at all times through appearance
