Embedded Debug Tools Engineer

IT Search is partnered with a global semiconductor company known for cutting-edge mixed-signal and embedded solutions across aerospace, industrial, and high-reliability systems.
We’re hiring an Embedded Debug Tools Engineer to shape internal and open-source tooling for RISC-V-based SoCs. You’ll join a focused team working across SDKs, build systems, and debugging tools to improve developer productivity across global engineering teams.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Developing and maintaining GDB stubs, JTAG tools, and instrumentation frameworks
* Enhancing VS Code and Eclipse integration for build/flash/debug workflows
* Supporting a modern SDK environment for RISC-V SoC development
* Collaborating with hardware and firmware teams on board/silicon bring-up
* Driving debugger integration (GDB, OpenOCD, FPGA toolchains)
What We’re Looking For:
* Strong skills in C, C++, Python, and scripting for dev environments
* Experience with CMake, Git, and embedded toolchains
* Familiarity with VS Code extensions, debug tooling, and FreeRTOS workflows
This is a high-impact role ideal for engineers passionate about improving how embedded teams work. Hybrid working (2–3 days onsite in Dublin) with excellent benefits.
