At Abbeyleix House and Farm you'll work with a varied string of horses and ponies, focusing on producing them to a high standard on the flat and giving them correct, confident foundations. You'll be training and developing young and riding horses under the guidance of our Head of Equestrian, Irish Olympian Sam Watson. It's an ideal role for a capable, ambitious rider who wants to level up their skills, deepen their understanding of schooling and horse development, and build a meaningful riding career in a thoughtful, welfare-focused environment.Ride horses, assess their way of going and implement appropriate schooling/exercise plans in conjunction with the Head of Equestrian.Ensure adequate provision of suitable horses and resources which meet the needs of the riders.Provide practical instruction to learners in an effective and innovative way, to ensure that guests' individual learning needs are met.Maintain the highest standards of horse health and welfare.Carry out all appropriate routine practical tasks associated with the day-to-day running of the equine facilities (stables, arena etc).Care for rescue horses and support the rehoming programme.Qualifications & SkillsHigh level of experience of riding a range of horses (and ages), including schooling, hacking, jumping, lunging and long reigning.Experience of training horses to an elementary dressage level.Experience of training horses to jump up to 1m.Experience of instructing riders of all ages and at various levels of competence.Proven experience of maintaining high standards of equine care.Team player who contributes to the provision of a welcoming and supportive environment.Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise objectives and meet deadlines.Full clean driving licence.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: €27,000.00-€40,000.00 per yearBenefits:Bike to work schemeCompany eventsCompany pensionOn-site parkingPrivate dental insurancePrivate medical insuranceSick payWork Location: In person
