Co-Operative Animal Health Ltd (CAHL)was founded in **** in Tullow, Co Carlow, Ireland.
CAHL supplies Co-op's, merchants and farmers with a comprehensive range of veterinary, dairy hygiene and animal nutrition products.
CAHL's nutritional supplements range is produced at Nutribio, its manufacturing facility in Tivoli, Cork, Ireland.
Nutribio's production facility is supported by a highly qualified technical team in addition to our in-house laboratory which ensures all products are tested to the highest quality standards and offer our customers full traceability.
For over 50 years, CAHL have been the number one provider of livestock health and nutrition solutions in Ireland.
We are committed to delivering solutions that improve the health and wellness of ruminants resulting in performance improvements in dairy, beef and sheep farm enterprises.
We focus on identifying key issues/problems that affect both current and potential customers and on designing solutions/programs to overcome these.
CAHL provide the complete animal husbandry solution to its customers which incorporates veterinary medicines, hygiene solutions and nutritional supplements to ensure that the animals health is always maximised while also giving the farmer a good return on investment.

Role and Responsibilities
· Extensive literature reviews and critical assessments of new active ingredients, technologies and delivery mechanisms in the field of ruminant nutrition.
· Collaborate with external organisations, both nationally and internationally to develop and trial new concepts and nutritional solutions
· Perform laboratory and production trials of new formulations, and co-ordinate trials with research institutions and commercial farms.
· Work closely with other nutritionists, vets and commercial specialists to design new products and services for the Irish and International ruminant nutrition markets.
· Manage and maintain records of Research and Development activity for internal databases and relevant funding programs, and write applications and reports for such programs
· Disseminate R+D outcomes to internal and external stakeholders
· Provide technical support to the sales team and retail partners, in the form of on-farm support, group meetings and discussion groups.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Experience of working in the agricultural or animal nutrition industries is essential
· A PhD, preferably in the fields of Animal Nutrition or related disciplines is highly desirable
· Working knowledge of Irish and International animal feed industries, and a network of academic and/or industry contacts is desirable
· Experience of using formulation software packages for animal nutrition is an advantage
· Experienced and proficient user of Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint
