The UnitedHealthcare Out of Network team solve complex data, medical, legal and negotiation problems for our members.
As an Associate Director of Actuarial Services, you will play a pivotal role in this team by applying your actuarial training to understand some of the most pressing challenges in the U.S. healthcare system.

Primary Responsibilities: Understand and interpret key drivers of health care trends Conduct and evaluate studies on pricing, utilization and health care costs and manage the development of pricing methodologies and assumptions Mentor and develop your elite team of actuaries and help them create unique solutions to complex problems Design and run complex data programs to perform mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling Analyze forecasts and trends and translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences including senior leaders The challenges here are significant.
You'll be part of an intensely driven and focused team that is accountable for constantly improving business results.
You'll be a trusted subject matter expert who's called on to incorporate traditional actuarial expertise into novel, cutting edge actuarial solutions You will be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) or FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) designation Proven extensive actuarial experience including supervisory experience Preferred Qualifications: Proven experience working in finance or the health care industry At least a basic level of proficiency with SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and/or SQL (Structured Query Language) Soft Skills: Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with a hands-on approach Demonstrated communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences and influence decision-making Leadership in collaborative, cross-functional settings, including mentoring and setting technical direction Please note you must currently be eligible to work and remain indefinitely without any restrictions in the country to which you are making an application.
