Capital Project Manager:
leads the planning, execution, and completion of large-scale projects, including the acquisition of high-value equipment, process improvements, and new product launches. Responsibilities include developing project plans with timelines and budgets, managing supplier relationships and procurement, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal standards, and collaborating with stakeholders and internal teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
• Project Management:
Oversee capital projects from initiation to closure, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Procurement:
Lead the end-to-end procurement process for capital equipment, including supplier identification, tendering, negotiation, and contracting.
• Supplier Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, acting as the primary contact and ensuring effective supply chain performance.
• Financial Oversight:
Manage project budgets and expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost optimisation and value improvement.
• Stakeholder Communication:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including user departments and facility management teams, to ensure project alignment and successful handover.
• Compliance:
Ensure all projects adhere to Abbott's quality systems, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), corporate regulations, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards.
• Risk Management:
Identify potential risks to project timelines and supply continuity, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Innovation & Improvement:
Drive initiatives for process improvement, new product launches, and the acquisition of assets that support production efficiency and innovation.
Qualifications and Skills
• Proven experience in leading and managing projects through their entire lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and lead teams.
• Proficiency in project management tools and good computer skills.
• Experience working in a regulated environment, such as the healthcare or manufacturing industry.
