We are presently recruiting for a Safety Officer to join our civil engineering company in Douglas, Cork City.
You will hold a minimum of two years previous experience and you will promote a culture of health, safety, and compliance across all construction projects.
This is a full time, permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor compliance with Irish H&S legislation, company policies, and client requirements.
Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training to staff and contractors.
Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
Support project managers in developing method statements and safe systems of work.
Maintain accurate safety records and documentation for regulatory audits.
Promote a proactive safety culture across all site operations.
Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in Health & Safety or related discipline.
NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent certification (essential).
Minimum 2–3 years' construction site experience.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
A competitive Salary, open to negotiation and based on experience in the region of €45,000–€60,000 is offered.
