About Your New Role
As Quantity Surveying Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of the commercial function across multiple large-scale construction projects, ensuring effective cost control, contract management, and financial performance from pre-construction through to final account.
Working closely with senior leadership, project managers, and site teams, you will lead and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors while driving commercial strategy and maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing the commercial delivery of major construction projects
Overseeing budgets, forecasting, and cost reporting
Leading procurement and subcontractor management processes
Managing valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts
Ensuring contractual compliance and mitigating commercial risk
Supporting project delivery teams to achieve programme and profitability targets
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Mentoring and developing junior commercial staff
What You Will Need
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline
Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor role within a main contractor environment
Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management processes
Experience delivering large-scale building projects
Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong commercial awareness with a proactive and solution-focused approach
Membership of a recognised professional body is advantageous
