About the role
We have a great opportunity for a Laboratory Technician at our Kerry site in Charleville, Co. Cork.
This is a full-time, seasonal role.
Hours of work involve a 3-cycle shift pattern: 0800 - 1600, 1600 - 1200, 1200 - 0800, with a shift allowance of 25%.
During summer, hours may change to 12-hour shifts, working 4 days on, 4 days off (including nights).
Our Kerry Ingredients site in Charleville employs around 140 staff and produces products such as skim milk powder for the infant and nutritional sectors, functional dairy ingredients for the confectionery industry, and cheese powders for the savory snack market. The site features a canteen and onsite parking, located on Kilmallock Road (R515), within 15 minutes' walk from the town center.
The Laboratory Technician will be based in our Powder Lab within Milk Intake. Responsibilities include testing and analyzing product samples to ensure quality standards. Previous experience as a Lab Assistant, Lab Analyst, Quality Technician, or QC Technician is advantageous.
Key responsibilities include:
* Analyzing raw materials, in-process, and finished product samples (whey, skim, milk powder, etc.) in the laboratory.
* Carrying out laboratory activities in line with GLP and in-house requirements.
* Ensuring compliance with GLP/GMP and safety standards.
* Maintaining adequate stock of consumables.
* Recording data accurately and maintaining clear records.
* Performing instrument calibration and maintenance (LECO).
* Participating in proficiency testing and audits.
* Maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment.
* Supporting site audits and other duties as required.
Qualifications and skills for success:
* Experience in Chemistry/Analytical Labs is desirable but not essential.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and SAP.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Attention to detail and compliance in a quality control environment.
* Good communication skills and ability to handle external auditors.
