OverviewMicrosoft's Corporate Accounting Revenue Recognition team is responsible for the accuracy of billions of dollars of revenue across the world for United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and local statutory reporting. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.ResponsibilitiesLead a team of revenue recognition specialists who evaluate customer agreements and document the proper revenue accounting under Accounting Standards Codification 606 (ASC 606).Ensure contract review and accounting processes follow the company's documented policies.Build relationships with key stakeholders (legal, revenue operations, sales, finance and strategy, etc.) to collaborate on non-routine transactions, new product offerings and process improvements.Serve a a key stakeholder in the design and implementation for new product launches.Enhance existing operational processes to provide good service to our business partners while ensuring efficiency and accuracy of our results.Review non-standard customer agreements to evaluate revenue recognition impacts and propose solutions that align with internal policies and company objectives.Represent Revenue Recognition as accounting systems specialist for projects and within team to assist with contract review efforts.Develop organizational enablement documentation and processes for global Revenue Recognition team.Participate in key strategic initiatives and assist with other ad hoc projects.Microsoft managers bring out the best in their people to achieve team and organization priorities by:Modeling: Live the culture, values, and leadership principles.
