Overview
Role Title – Inside Sales Engineer. Reports to the Inside Sales Supervisor. Hours: 37.5 on-site, Monday to Friday.
The Inside Sales Engineer is the primary point of contact for the Regional Sales Managers and Sales Representatives and collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other departments to respond to customer inquiries. The role uses customer process and applications data as a strategic asset to select technically suitable and competitive product solutions that satisfy customer application requirements. A background in chemical, mechanical, or other industrial engineering is preferred, with experience in technical sales administration and/or applications of industrial equipment for processing plants (petrochemical, chemical, pharma, food) such as valves, flanges, pipe fittings, gauges, pressure safety devices, and process monitoring equipment.
Experience in sales or customer service within an engineered manufacturing environment, with proven success in administering contracts, is required.
Responsibilities
Review customer specifications and documents to select appropriate technical solutions for a given application.
Perform sizing calculations for specified equipment.
Manage inquiries from worldwide distributors and customers and generate quotations within the specified time frame.
Assist customers and distributors with selecting the appropriate technical solution for a given application.
Work with Engineering by providing technical details of the application to generate pricing for non-standard items.
Using the CRM database, catalogue daily activities, record customer information, and log competitor activities regarding distribution channels and pricing.
Prepare discount requests for Management approval when required.
Ad-hoc project and administrative duties as assigned.
Support and monitor all quality audit requirements.
Support quotation activities of similar pressure relief products based on internal sales support requirements.
Interact with manufacturing, engineering, and Quality departments to respond to customer quality requirements.
Actively participate in Bid Clarification Meetings/Technical meetings with customers.
Self-starting, proactive, and able to achieve objectives with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
Qualifications
Knowledge of material selections, ANSI/DIN class standards.
Knowledge of API standards; API sizing and tank safety equipment is an added advantage.
A degree or junior degree in chemical, process, or mechanical engineering is preferred.
1–2 years of experience in inside sales, pricing, estimation, quotation processing, EPC contracts, or post-order documentation within valves, pumps, chemical, process, or mechanical industries; preferred experience in the pressure relief industry.
Knowledge and experience handling large process industry equipment inquiries and post-order documentation.
Experience in inside sales or pricing within an engineered manufacturing environment.
Language: Ireland (required).
