Eligibility: To participate on CE, generally must be 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more, or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Eligibility will be verified by the Department. To register interest, contact an Employment Personal Advisor (EPA) in your local Intreo Centre. Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.
Duties
This is a developmental opportunity; no experience is necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
If you are 21 years or older in receipt of a social welfare payment for 12 months, this is an opportunity to gain experience as a Caretaker with a stepping stone to employment. Weekly rate €271.50 for a single applicant, with extra for dependents. The programme provides practical work experience of 19.5 hours per week, alongside training towards a QQI qualification in your chosen career. All training is funded through the programme (100%).
Key duties include: ensuring the childcare facility environment is maintained to meet activities offered within the Centre; building maintenance, security, ground maintenance, Health & Safety; reporting concerns to Manager/Supervisor; arranging orderly and secure storage of chemicals and supplies; maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of buildings, external walkways, driveways, playgrounds, car parks, and grounds; assisting with movement of furniture and equipment within the Childrenentre; ensuring equipment and tools are maintained; reporting broken items to the Supervisor/Manager.
