Lead Nursing Care Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Lead Nursing Care Specialist to support our high-quality elder care services. This is a key leadership role for a nurse who thrives in a people-first, resident-focused setting.

About the Role:

As Lead Nursing Care Specialist, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure the delivery of exceptional care in line with regulatory standards and organisational values. You will lead clinical oversight, mentor staff, promote continuous improvement, and ensure every resident feels safe, respected, and cared for.

Responsibilities and Duties:

* Support the Director of Nursing in daily and strategic management of the service
* Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and relevant legislation
* Promote a resident-first culture through individualised care plans
* Provide clinical guidance and mentoring to nursing teams
* Contribute to recruitment, induction, supervision, and performance management
* Champion a warm, inclusive environment prioritising dignity, safety, and independence
* Drive continuous quality improvement and support internal and external audits
* Liaise with residents, families, GPs, and allied health professionals
* Assist with scheduling, risk management, and clinical governance

Your Team:

* Director of Nursing providing strong mentorship
* Experienced clinical team with positive morale

Essential Criteria:

* NMBI-registered nurse (RGN, RPN or RNID)
* Minimum 6 years post-registration nursing experience
* At least 3 years in a senior or supervisory clinical role
* Strong working knowledge of HIQA regulations and elder care best practices
* Proven leadership, decision-making, and organisational skills
* Excellent communication and team motivation abilities
* Passion for delivering resident-focused, high-quality care
