Job Purpose
To manage the home in accordance with its Statement of Purpose and to ensure the maintenance of a safe and caring environment in accordance with relevant childcare legislation, national standards, and Ashdale Care (Ireland) Policies and Procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure care practices comply with relevant legislation, standards, and best practice.
* Promote high standards of physical care, hygiene, and safety for all children.
* Manage the home to meet the needs of children and promote positive outcomes.
* Participate in pre-admission processes and develop individual care plans.
* Develop, implement, and monitor care plans.
* Attend and contribute to meetings, acting as an advocate for children and families.
* Build good relationships with families and professionals.
* Ensure integration of therapeutic and person-centered models within care practices.
* Provide reports to social workers and attend court as needed.
* Conduct audits and develop engagement strategies with young people.
* Contribute to governance and continuous improvement.
* Develop community links.
Staff Management
* Provide leadership and guidance.
* Manage staff schedules and induction.
* Supervise and appraise staff.
* Ensure effective communication and staff meetings.
* Support staff development and training plans.
Financial and Resource Management
* Assist with budgets and financial procedures.
* Maintain a safe environment and proper upkeep of facilities and resources.
Personal Development
* Promote high standards of practice.
* Address poor practice immediately.
* Engage in professional development activities.
* Participate in duty rota and sleeping-in duties.

Requirements
* Minimum Level 8 degree in Social Care/Work.
* Full clean driving license and access to a car.
