Job Description
Principal Structural Engineer to join our Dublin office.
The role involves project delivery and assessment of existing structures across various sectors such as healthcare, data centres, commercial, hospitality, education and civic.
What you'll do
Effectively control the commercial, managerial and technical aspects of projects or parts for which you are responsible.
Sourcing opportunities and preparing fee proposals for submission to clients, including resources and programme.
Leading a team of engineers and technicians designing building infrastructure schemes.
Requirements
Excellent knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques, procedures and structural principles.
Undertake structural engineering projects, performing analyses and calculations as appropriate.
Supervise work, ensuring it meets technical standard and is managed to programme and budget.
Deliver design solutions and assessment calculations, lead teams and successfully manage projects.
Solid track record on various structures projects, possibly as project leader, with experience dealing directly with clients.
Specific Requirements
Excellent knowledge of design in reinforced concrete and structural steelwork.
Excellent working knowledge of the current Eurocodes, specifically Eurocode 2 & Eurocode 3.
Excellent working knowledge of structural analysis software such as SCIA, TEKLA or similar.
Experience in assessment of existing structures and their justification, as well as new build designs.
Ability to communicate effectively with team, senior management and represent AECOM professionally to clients and external bodies.

Qualifications
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
Chartered Engineer (CEng).
Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStruct E) and/or the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE).
Desirable attributes
Knowledge and experience of the local Dublin marketplace.
