Job Description
The Sexual Health Promotion Worker will play a key role in promoting positive sexual health and wellbeing across the Midwest region. Working as part of the GOSHH team, this role focuses on developing, delivering, and coordinating sexual health education programmes, training sessions, and awareness initiatives for individuals, groups, and communities. The post holder will support the organisation’s mission to promote equality, inclusion, and respectful attitudes towards gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and sexual health. A central aspect of the role involves building relationships with community groups, statutory agencies, and partner organisations to increase awareness of GOSHH services and to strengthen sexual health outcomes across diverse communities. The role also supports outreach activities, including assisting the testing team in STI screening and related services. The Sexual Health Promotion Worker will contribute to internal working groups, assist in the development of training materials and programmes, and participate in strategic planning and service development. The role includes maintaining accurate records, contributing to reports and evaluations, and representing the organisation at external events and networks where appropriate. This is a collaborative, outreach-focused position requiring strong communication skills, community engagement experience, and a commitment to sexual health promotion and equality.
Key Requirements
Experience in health promotion, community development, education, or related field.
Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Knowledge of sexual health, HIV, and STI prevention (or willingness to develop).
Ability to engage effectively with diverse communities.
Experience working collaboratively within a team and with external agencies.
Strong organisational and record‑keeping skills.
Commitment to equality, inclusion, and confidentiality.
Flexibility to support outreach and occasional events.
