2.5-year Senior Research Fellow position is available at UCD, funded as part of a Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund (DTIF) project.
This role is one of five Research Fellow positions at UCD working closely with industry partners, specifically LaNua Medical ( and Integer Holdings Corporation ( The project focuses on LaNua Medical's ECORE technology, the world's first vessel-agnostic embolisation technology, which achieves complete vessel occlusion while allowing targeted distal therapeutic delivery.
The core purpose of this role is to assess device overall functional performance (including radiopacity optimisation, delivery system compatibility, simulated use scenarios), coordinate device compatibility assessment and associated pre-clinical studies, optimise design and manufacturing sustainability, lead reporting and dissemination activities and liaise with the industry partners on knowledge transfer .
The outcomes will be crucial in aiding in the development of novel test methods and the clinical translation of the ECORE technology.
The purpose of the role is to deliver a specific research project.
The role allows the Research Fellow the professional development opportunity to demonstrate the capacity for independent and self-directed research and scholarship and the management of a research team.
The role allows the Fellow to assemble a portfolio of independent achievement and render themselves competitive for tenured academic positions or senior scientific roles in industry.
Research Fellow Salary Scale: €65,889 - €82,488 per annum .
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
