We achieve this through efficient use of materials together with the application of rigorous and thorough design principles. To complement our current inhouse design capabilities, we are looking to add a Structural Design Engineer to our team to assist in the design and future development of our facade elements.ResponsibilitiesDesign of unique architectural precast concrete facade systems and supporting fixings, on flagship projects in sectors like commercial, residential, leisure, healthcare.Working with client design teams to develop bespoke 'whole' facade solutions to suit architectural, structural and site constraints.Liaising with the inhouse Production and Installation Teams to ensure optimum design for manufacture, transportation, and erection on site.Working on both Concept and Detail Designs for each project.Preparation of calculations and reviewing drawings for production.Reporting to a Senior Structural Engineer and working with a very experienced teams of designers.Occasional travel between Ireland and the UK for meetings and site inspections.Opportunity to develop engineering design and project management skills on a variety of building types in Ireland and the UK.About YouAbility to work on own initiative in a busy environment but with support and mentorship from the rest of the engineering teamGood analytical and numerical skillsGood knowledge of Building RegulationsGood communication and team building skillsA working knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles as they relate to facadesExcellent attention to detail, written and oral communication skillsExperience in the use of Design Software, including Structural Engineering Design Packages, AutoCAD, Tekla, Revit, Sketch Up and ExcelExperience in the precast concrete industry an advantageQualifications / ExpertiseEducation: Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering or related disciplineMinimum 5 years' experience with specific experience in reinforced concrete and steel designAmbition to become a Chartered Engineer (inhouse mentorship and training will be provided)Experience in the precast concrete industry an advantageExperience in the use of Design Software, including AutoCAD, Tekla, Revit, Sketch Up and ExcelBenefitsSubsidised onsite canteenCycle to work schemeEnhanced maternity leaveEnhanced paternity leaveOnsite parkingEarly leave on FridayCompany PensionEqual OpportunitiesTechrete is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse working environment.
