Our client is an Irish shipping and transport group. Operating roll on/roll off passenger, freight and container freight services on routes between Ireland, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe.
The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join the Enterprise Services team. Reporting to the IT Service Desk Team Lead, this role will support the performance, availability, and ongoing operation of our on-premises and Azure-based infrastructure, as well as the Microsoft 365 environment. The role will work closely with internal teams and a managed service partner to ensure reliable and effective service delivery.
This role would suit a technically strong infrastructure professional who is comfortable operating in a hybrid or cloud-first environment and working collaboratively with service partners to support business-critical platforms.
What you’ll need
Strong experience supporting Windows Server and Linux in a virtualised or cloud-based environment.
Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration.
Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, including user lifecycle management, RBAC, and Group Policy.
Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and infrastructure performance management.
Experience working with managed service providers or third‑party support partners.
What you’ll do
Support the day‑to‑day operation of on‑premises and Azure‑based virtual infrastructure, and associated enterprise systems.
Monitor system health, performance, and availability, and coordinate issue resolution with support partners where required.
Administer Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and user access management processes.
Support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Intune.
Act as an escalation point for infrastructure‑related incidents and contribute to incident resolution and root cause analysis.
Work with the managed service partner to help maintain service reliability, platform performance, and operational improvements.
Assist with documentation, standardisation, and infrastructure‑related project activities.
Pension: Defined Contribution immediately up to 10% EC and EE.
