About The Land Development Agency
The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a commercial, semi-State body that seeks to maximise the supply of affordable homes on public and other land in a financially sustainable manner, supporting the creation of thriving communities and delivering ongoing positive social impact. It is overseen by an independent board of directors and is funded with €5 billion of equity capital committed by the Government. It is also permitted to borrow up to €1.25bn
The LDA has commenced construction on a number of projects on State land and has a delivery pipeline in excess of 17,000 homes. It also works in partnership with the country’s largest and most experienced homebuilders and will deliver a further 8,000 homes under the Government’s Project Tosaigh initiative.
Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, this role is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of supplier payments and contributing to the management and maintenance of a best in class Accounts Payable function, including maintaining financial controls, implementation of purchasing procedures, risk management and expense/supplier payments.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluation and set up of key suppliers
* Support the implementation and automation of the PO system
* Ensure appropriate controls and approvals in place before costs are incurred
* Liaise with suppliers and reconcile supplier statements
* Support the monthly close process
* Review company credit card expenditure
* Present payments listings to AP Lead and Head of Finance for approval
* Liaise with the wider finance team and other divisions e.g. Procurement, Property, Construction, etc.
* Liaise with Tax function on matters including VAT, RCT, PSWT
* Contribute and drive good financial discipline within the organisation
* Support the internal and external audit functions
* Collaborate across departments to assist with the preparation of budget data
* Other ad-hoc and administration duties as required to support good financial discipline
Person Specification
* Strong Accounts Payable background with at least 3 years’ work experience in a similar role, preferably within a large organisation
* Attention to detail is a key attribute, and ability to follow established processes and procedures
* Advanced Excel skills required
* Strong analytical, research & issue resolution abilities necessary
* Ability to work in a fast paced, busy environment
* Accounting systems knowledge e.g. Sage, Oracle, SAP
* Business or Accounting qualification
* Results orientated and experience working to tight deadlines.
* Highly organised and focused
* Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a wider team
Desired Criteria
* Industry exposure; knowledge of construction industry/property development or capital investment projects is a distinct advantage
* Experience working within a medium sized finance team
* Sage 200c experience
* Exposure to the semi state sector would be advantageous.
