Responsibility for the development, performance, and maintenance of all of the organisation’s transport activity to produce an efficient transport service, maximising service, performance, value, and profitability against pre-agreed targets ensuring legislation and safe methods of working are adhered to.
DHS Complete Hire is part of the AER Rents group of 6 companies in Ireland and the UK, specializing in plant, powered access, mobile welfare and small tools hire.
Key Skills & Duties
Organise and schedule transport routing, deliveries and collections of an extensive range of equipment and optimise loads to suit the fleet of trucks and trailers.
Work closely with the operations team and sales hire control teams to ensure achievement of customer service standards.
To support, implement and improve all company health, safety and welfare standards, policies and procedures.
Organise and maintain the efficiency of the entire transport service.
Communicate with vehicle drivers, ensuring that they are kept up to date with legislative or company policy changes and customer requirements.
To ensure that vehicles and trailers are kept in a fit and roadworthy condition.
To ensure that safety inspections and other statutory testing are carried out within company-prescribed maintenance intervals.
Reviews and implements Driver training plans for the year in accordance with both business targets and CPC requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 3 years relevant management experience in a similar logistics role.
Full ROI Driver’s License (Essential).
National CPC qualification holder (Essential).
Transport Manager CPC Refresher training completed within last 5 years.
Excellent working knowledge of Transport legislation.
Proven record in Fleet Maintenance Compliance.
LGV Driving License (C+CE) (desirable but not essential)
Previous experience in a similar role beneficial
