We are looking for a
Senior Food Technologist
to join our client's dedicated development team. In this role, you will lead New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) projects, working cross-functionally to bring branded and private-label seafood products from concept to launch for the Irish and European retail markets.
Responsibilities
* Leading NPD and EPD projects through the full development process, from concept to launch.
* Ensuring 100% compliance with all policies, legislation, and agreed product, customer, and business standards.
* Setting up, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with stage-gate product development processes, implementing Lean NPD techniques to meet requirements at each project stage.
* Coordinating day-to-day NPD processes for line extensions and pack resizing projects, from brief to launch.
* Protecting and continuously improving processes and products, while providing leadership and training to NPD staff members.
* Developing a clear understanding of business priorities and contributing to the guiding principle of lowest cost.
* Providing weekly updates on project progress to the NPD Account Manager.
* Liaising with key retail account customers, delivering NPD project updates in meetings, and resolving project issues with guidance where needed.
* Driving continuous improvement within the Innovation Department.
* Researching markets and technologies to develop new product concepts.
Experience
* A third-level degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or Food Business.
* 3+ years of hands-on experience in the FMCG/food manufacturing sector, in a transferable role such as Quality, Technical, or Product Development.
* Excellent knowledge of quality systems, including BRC standards, HACCP, allergen control, and related regulations.
* Experience in supplier and product selection.
* Proven ability in product quality optimisation.
* Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and work cross-functionally.
* A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
