We are hiring Senior Pharmacist - Medicines Information (FTC) into our Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. Contract Type: Fixed-Term, Full-Time
Responsibilities
Lead the Medicines Information function, ensuring the safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of medicines across the organisation.
Manage and deliver medicines information services, including handling queries, reviewing new drugs, and issuing clinical updates and guidance.
Plan, organise, and oversee education and training programmes for pharmacy staff, interns, technicians, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Support and promote research, audit, and evidence-based practice, encouraging staff participation in publications and presentations.
Collaborate with senior pharmacists and hospital departments to ensure a cohesive and efficient pharmacy service.
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting systems, including workload data, incidents, and service activity.
Contribute to the operational management of pharmacy services, including dispensing, accuracy checking, and supervision of staff.
Deliver clinical pharmacy services, including medicines reconciliation, prescription review, therapeutic monitoring, and adverse drug reaction reporting.
Support the development and optimisation of clinical information systems, ensuring quality, compliance, and effective implementation.
Uphold quality, safety, and regulatory standards, participating in audits, accreditation processes, continuous improvement initiatives, and flexible service delivery (including on‑call and extended hours).
Requirements
Be registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) with a recognised pharmacy qualification.
Hold a minimum of 3 years’ post‑registration hospital experience, demonstrating strong clinical knowledge and capability.
A Diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy Practice is desirable.
Demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate clinical literature and research related to medicines.
Show evidence of research skills and the ability to contribute to evidence-based practice.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Collaborate with pharmacy management and hospital departments to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality pharmacy services.
Maintain and promote health, safety, and security standards for patients, staff, and self.
Exhibit strong organisational, administrative, and IT skills (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Clinichemo, Cliniscript), with attention to accuracy and detail.
Demonstrate a person‑centred approach, professionalism, integrity, and the ability to work effectively under pressure, with a commitment to service improvement and staff development.
