Project Engineer (Automation) - Pharmaceuticals - 12-Month Contract
Located on the picturesque west coast of Ireland, our global pharmaceutical client is seeking a Project Engineer to join their state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility.
Situated in the historic province of Connacht, near the Atlantic Ocean, this location blends Irish culture with modern amenities in a popular seaside town filled with bars, restaurants, and water sports.
Responsibilities
* Safely coordinate the delivery of processing equipment to the site based on planned timelines and scope. Equipment includes autoclaves, LAF units, moulds, extruders, packaging equipment, equipment upgrades, lyophilizers, isolators, containment booths, and stopper processing equipment.
* Coordinate equipment installation and service hookups, working with vendors and engineering personnel.
* Lead the Project Team or support the Project Manager in Factory Acceptance Testing.
* Coordinate all equipment documentation requirements.
* Oversee equipment commissioning for validation activities.
* Prepare equipment training and maintenance protocols.
* Report project progress to the Project Manager and provide advice/support on key outcomes.
* Participate in technical problem-solving forums related to product manufacture, aseptic fill, and packaging.
* Deliver process improvement projects.
* Collaborate with Business Unit leaders to implement improvements.
* Lead regular Equipment/Facility Project review meetings.
* Attend weekly Tier Meetings, monthly Department Meetings, and monthly 1:1 meetings with supervisors.
Requirements
* Third-level qualification in Engineering, Science, or equivalent discipline/experience.
* Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry is advantageous but not essential.
* At least 5 years of site experience in Automation or a similar field.
* Project Management experience is preferable but not necessary.
* Strong interpersonal skills to operate effectively within a multi-function project team.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, articulating and delivering specific functional requirements across disciplines.
