Client
Our client a leading Multinational Power Semiconductor Company requires SoC Power Systems Architect for role based in Cork City, Ireland.
Role
You will continue the development of digital control ICs. This will involve developing and expanding existing technology and also providing innovative solutions for identified technical challenges. *\u2022* Ideally, this is a senior management role which involves extensive interaction with/management of our existing system architects and close interaction with our IC design team.
Responsibilities
Participation in product definition and strategic design decisions
Development of system models and architectures to facilitate problem solving, innovation and architectural mapping.
Selection and specification of key product building blocks.
Definition and specification of advanced architectural circuits and systems for next generation products to satisfy product and market requirements.
Mapping of technical solutions to detailed electrical specifications for IC circuits.
Supporting the delivery of architecture from modelling through to functioning silicon
Maintenance of detailed system models to match silicon performance and delivery of models as required to customers.
Correlation of models with existing and proposed IC databases to facilitate IC design and verification activities.
Extensive interaction and collaboration with product/system architects and IC design.
Documentation of architectures and results.
Interaction with applications engineering for debug, simulation and resolution of customer difficulties.
Ability to work to schedule.
Experience
10 years+ relevant engineering experience.
2 years+ of people management experience with a design team. The company offers a comprehensive suite of benefit programs designed to help you achieve your personal and professional goals. With us, you'll experience unique career paths, an open and collaborative culture, a stable business that will be there for you, and opportunities to work globally and locally.
Candidates should have prior experience in System Architecture, ideally in management, with patent history and/or publication record.
Extensive expertise in control theory and digital signal processing is essential. Prior experience in power conversion is ideal, but not essential.
Candidates are expected to have a high level of expertise in Matlab, Simplis or other system modelling environments.
A good grasp of IC design is highly desirable to facilitate architectural trade-offs based on feasibility of implementation, and for the creation of achievable electrical circuit specifications.
Part from technical suitability, excellent interpersonal skills and a co-operative/collaborative manner are required.
Education
PhD, post-graduate or degree qualification in Electronic Engineering or similar.
