We specialise in transformative digital solutions that drive efficiency and enhance user experiences for our clients.The RoleOpenSky Data Systems are seeking an experienced Head of Finance on a 3 day per week basis. This role is hybrid with 1 to 2 days required onsite per week.You will oversee core financial operations, ensure compliance, and provide high-level financial insights to support strategic decision-making. Reporting to the MD and Directors, and working closely with the finance manager, leadership and cross-functional teams, this role suits a collaborative and commercially minded professional seeking part-time strategic engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the directors in financial strategy and decision making and to enhance the financial reporting capabilities as the company scales.Collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership Team, acting as a key financial advisor and ensuring that critical financial issues are identified, escalated, and addressed in a timely manner.KPI Reporting & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analyses of financial data, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for optimisation & strategic recommendations, delivered as part of a dashboard and reporting pack structure updated monthly.Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the development of quarterly & annual budgets in collaboration with management team. Provide ongoing support in forecasting activities. Maintain rolling forecasts against budget and monitor performance against budgets and forecasts.Cost Management: Monitor and analyse costs, proactively identifying areas for cost reduction and process enhancement seeking opportunities for efficiency and margin improvement.Compliance and Regulations: Stay current with relevant financial regulations, ensuring steadfast compliance with accounting standards.Financial Reporting: Responsible for liaising with external auditors, solicitors, insurance supplier as and when appropriate.Ad-hoc Projects: Lead and contribute to special projects and initiatives, providing seasoned financial expertise and strategic support.Bring a continuous improvement mindset to the finance function by reviewing existing processes with updates and amendments as required.RequirementsMinimum of 7 years of experience within a senior finance roleBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.ACCA/ACA qualification or equivalent.Strong costing & analytical skills.Strong communicator with experience in SME or fast-growing tech environments.Proven ability to build trust and credibility with internal and external stakeholdersAdept at navigating cross functional relationships to align financial strategy with business goals.Ability to communicate financial insights clearly and persuasively to both finance and non-finance audiencesThrives in a collaborative environment, partnering closely with leadership and external advisersActively supports business leaders with data driven recommendations to inform strategic decisions.What We OfferYou will form part of a high-performance team, working together to deliver projects of national and international importance, changing the way large businesses and governments work.Incremental Increases in Annual LeaveContinuous Professional DevelopmentEducation Assistance ProgrammeDigital Doctor ServiceEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP)PensionHybrid working
