The Loading shift pattern of 39 hours is as follows:
Sundays 10am to 1730hrs
Mon – Thurs 1330hrs to 2200hrs
(There are occasions where the finish time may be beyond the 2200hrs.)
Friday and Saturday are your days off.
Breaks are of 15 minutes (paid) and 30 minutes (unpaid) duration during the shift.
Annual Leave consists of 22 days for Full Time employees.
Briefly, The Role Involves
Loading/unloading trailers and rigids with a mixture of pallets and combies, from a printed load sheet:
The Vehicle is loaded in the order of delivery by the driver.
We use double PPT’s for loading/unloading.
Loads are comprised of Route Numbers, and goods to be loaded have route labels attached to either the Pallets or Combies for that route.
We are finished when the last load is completed, and a clean-up of the despatch area is conducted, (which may be beyond the official finish time and can occur during busy and holiday periods).
There may also be an occasion to work a few hours on Friday. Usually, leading into a bank holiday weekend.
This is rotated amongst the team, so everyone gets the chance at extra OT.
The first 39 hours are payable at basic rate, any hours worked after the thirty-nine is payable as overtime.
There is a sperate rate payable for Sundays (0.33% x basic rate)
Bank Holidays are payable at Double time.
There is a minimum six (6) month probation period from start date.
Two Reviews Are Conducted During The Probation Period
One at end of Month 1 and one at end of Month 3.
A final decision is taken following the completion of the six-month period.
There is a target of 1500 cases loaded per hour to be achieved once the settling in period has been completed.
Mandatory Training such as Powered Pallet Truck, Forklift Truck and Manual Handling Training, Health and Safety, Hygiene Inductions etc. will be conducted by, or on behalf of, the Company.
Weekly assistance meetings and task training will take place with your Manager.
