Site Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Site Engineer to join our team on a Donegal based building project site.
* Our client is one of Ireland's leading Civil & Building Contractors with operations throughout the country.
* The successful candidate will work closely with our foremen and operatives to ensure that all works are completed to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Set out the works and ensure that foremen and operatives clearly understand the information provided.
2. Review information from drawings, specifications, etc. to foremen, operatives, subcontractors, so that they clearly understand what is required.
3. Test materials as directed by your supervisor/line manager in accordance with the relevant specifications.
4. Quality reviews on site with regard to rebar and concrete placement.
5. Review of technical submissions prior to upload to design team to ensure that the correct areas of work are addressed.
6. Overview of concrete testing and results.
7. Directing subcontractors in some instances with regard to works to be carried out.
8. Preparation of technical method statements.
9. Traffic management on site, being able to coordinate works within a busy location.
10. Record all daily activities, relevant information and occurrences in your site diary.
11. Pursue, proactively, your own development and training.
12. Conduct your work in a safe manner – correct and report those who do not.
13. Develop and maintain professional working relationships with all personnel.
14. Monitor and check setting out instruments and testing equipment.
15. Maximise profit through your day-to-day actions: good self-management, accuracy in own work, elimination of re-work.
16. Follow directions and attend meetings as required.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* A third level qualification in Engineering
* Proven experience in setting out or working as a Site Engineer in previous roles.
* Experience working with a main contractor, subcontractor, surveying firm or similar preferred
* Experience managing traffic for a large scale site in a high traffic area
* Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
* Excellent communication skills
* Working knowledge in Microsoft Office, Project, PowerPoint etc.

* Salary €45k - €65k negotiable depending on experience
