PFH Technology is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join our client's expanding team.
Objective: To support the Device Enhancement Team in upgrading hard drives on Windows end-user devices.
Contract: 12-month contract
Location: East of the country
Requirements: Full Irish Driving Licence is essential
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
1. Install and configure computer hardware, peripherals, operating systems, and applications.
2. Understand the internal components of desktops, including storage drives, motherboards, and power supplies.
3. Use disk cloning tools effectively.
4. Manage partitions, format drives, etc.
5. Provide onsite support in specific or multiple sites, requiring mobility.
6. Coordinate with team members for upgrade schedules, perform upgrades onsite, resolve issues, and ensure excellent customer service.
7. Escalate hardware or application issues as needed.
8. Respond promptly to Service Desk calls, including travel to support sites within the geographical region.
9. Build and maintain good relationships with customers and end-users.
10. Coordinate with third-party vendors for software and hardware installations.
11. Troubleshoot hardware faults and refer to third parties if necessary.
12. Diagnose and resolve software and system problems.
13. Contribute to and utilize the Knowledge Base.
14. Complete post-upgrade documentation for the central team.
15. Handle 'how-to' inquiries, data security, and ICT policies.
16. Collaborate with local and national ICT teams and service providers.
17. Conduct site assessments and undertake relevant training.
Other duties include:
1. Coordinate office activities for efficiency and compliance.
2. Maintain records and databases.
3. Prepare reports, presentations, and proposals as assigned.
4. Assist colleagues and project teams.
5. Hold a full clean Irish Driving Licence.
Experience:
1. Minimum 1 year of experience in an IT Support environment.
2. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and report writing.
3. Good problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
4. Proven ability to produce quality deliverables.
5. Understanding of the Irish Healthcare system.

Education:
1. Third-level qualification preferred.
