Role Summary
As a Social Care Worker, you will play a central role in supporting young people in a residential setting. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care, promote therapeutic relationships, and support young people to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Build trusting, supportive relationships with young people through daily interactions.
* Support the emotional, educational, and behavioural needs of each young person.
* Implement individual care plans and contribute to their development and review.
* Ensure the safety, welfare, and protection of young people in line with national standards.
* Promote independence and life skills through structured routines and role modelling.
* Maintain detailed records including daily logs, incident reports, and key working sessions.
* Liaise effectively with families, social workers, schools, and external professionals.
* Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and ongoing training.
* Uphold the values of Emerald Care RCS and our commitment to trauma-informed care.
Essential Requirements
* Degree in Social Care or a related discipline (e.g., Youth Work, Psychology, Social Work).
* A genuine commitment to working with vulnerable children and young people.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamworking skills.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres (2018), and child safeguarding practices.
* Ability to remain calm and compassionate in challenging situations.
Desirable
* Experience in a residential or similar care setting.
* Full, clean driving licence.
