Dynamic Cost Planner Role in Residential Development
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Cost Planner to join our team and support pre-contract quantity surveying functions under the guidance of a Senior Cost Planner.
This is a dynamic, hands-on role that will contribute directly to project decisions from early feasibility through to detailed design.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the preparation of cost plans from feasibility to detailed planning stages.
* Assist in measurement and interpretation of planned works.
* Attend design team meetings and report updates to the Senior Cost Planner.
* Provide benchmarking and budget insights from live projects.
* Collaborate with sales teams to align specifications with market expectations.
* Assist in preparing and interpreting Bills of Quantities.
* Contribute to maintaining a comprehensive cost database.
* Support in preparing and submitting Part V applications.
* Liaise with PQS consultants and ensure current project information is shared.
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience with a PQS or developer.
* Strong communication, analytical, and time management skills.
* Proficiency in Buildsoft-Cubit, Cost-x (or similar), and Microsoft Office.
* Detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable managing multiple tasks.
* A proactive team player with the ability to work independently.
