This is a Fixed Term contract position with the Toolroom team, reporting to the Toolroom Supervisor.
Job Summary
The Toolroom Assistant works with the Toolroom team to support the cleaning, maintenance, and repair of all molds.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Toolmaker in the maintenance of injection molds in the company.
* Assist in identifying improvement activities related to mould maintenance procedures.
* Assist the Toolmaker in the maintenance on the injection molding and ancillary equipment in conjunction with the machine supplier.
* Work with the Toolmaker and Production Group Leaders (PGLs) in troubleshooting mold problems.
* Resolve, in conjunction with the Toolmaker and Quality department, customer related problems/issues as needed.
* Comply with all local site company policies, procedures, and corporate policies.
* Assist in training and advising new employees and apprentices regarding mould maintenance.
* Comply with all site Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, training, and regulations.
* Act in accordance with the company’s guiding principles and the corporate Code of Conduct.
* Perform additional duties at the request of the direct supervisor.
Basic Qualifications
* Good verbal reasoning, numerate ability, and mechanical aptitude skills.
* Good communication skills, both written and oral.
* Good organizational skills.
* Ability to work in a team environment.
* Basic knowledge and understanding of a computer.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
* Aware of all relevant standard operating procedures as per Company policy related to the position.
* Experience maintaining injection moulds or other mechanical manufacturing equipment.
* Good understanding of the injection molding process.
* Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
* Experience in a high-volume production environment.
* Knowledge of GMP requirements.
Education
* High School Diploma; Technical certificate in Precision Machining/Mechanical Engineering required

Physical Requirements
Heavy-exerting up to 100 lbs/45 kg of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs/22 kg of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs/9 kg of force constantly to move objects.
Must be able to stand/walk for periods of up to 3 hours.
Must be able to lift equipment and tools up to 20 kg up to ten times per day.
Must be able to climb safety step ladders up to five feet in height.
Mental Requirements
Ability to reason logically; remain focused and follow procedures; maintain awareness of surroundings; work as part of a team; complete assigned tasks without direct supervision.
