We are looking for a committed, caring and enthusiastic Early Years Educator to join our Early Intervention classes team working with autistic children at the Shine Centre in Carrigaline, Co Cork. Initially this position is for Maternity Leave cover for one year comprising of a working week of 31 hours with 10 weeks paid leave per year based on the Group Tuition Scheme calendar. Applicants will work within a classroom team to support pre-school autistic children. Start Date: 05th January,2026. Responsibilities Include: Teaching children in both 1:1 settings and group settings with a focus on the child's IEP and individual developmental goals. Supporting the class tutor in the management, planning and running of the class. Working as part of the classroom team to provide a safe, caring and inclusive learning environment for all. Encouraging and supporting the continuous development of each child's independence skills in the classroom. Preparing and supporting group activities including play, socialisation, art and crafts etc. Working closely with the other tutors in the classroom to ensure open and effective communication. Implementing programmes and recommendations set out by our Occupational Therapist and Speech & Language Therapist for each student. Job Requirements: Applicants must hold a level 7/8 qualification in Montessori Education or Early Childhood Studies or equivalent childcare qualification. Applicants must be eligible for the membership of the Teaching Council of Ireland (Level 7/8 degree as detailed above will/should qualify).
