Role Overview
Southview Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon with a strong focus on Large Animal practice to join our skilled and supportive team. This permanent role offers the opportunity to primarily work with large animal patients while also maintaining some exposure to small animal work through a shared rota, providing a varied and rewarding caseload.
You will practice within a modern, fully equipped hospital, supported by advanced diagnostic tools and a passionate team committed to delivering exceptional veterinary care across all species. About Us
Since 2003, Southview Veterinary Hospital has provided comprehensive veterinary care to both large and small animals. Our team consists of six veterinarians, four nurses, and seven support staff who are passionate about continuous learning and veterinary advancement.
We offer specialist services in Cardiology, Canine Physiotherapy, and Reproduction, with an on-site hydrotherapy suite led by our in-house Physiotherapist. We also maintain strong community links through partnerships with charities like Paws and TNR groups. Located in scenic Tipperary, the practice is ideally positioned just an hour from Cork, Limerick, and Waterford, with access to outdoor activities such as the Blueway cycle track and River Suir—perfect for maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Candidate Requirements
* Registered Veterinary Surgeon with the Veterinary Council of Ireland
* Proven experience in mixed/large animal practice with a confident, competent bias towards large animal care
* Ability to work independently and manage routine large animal cases without extensive support
* Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to farm visits as required
