Purpose of Role:
Cardiac Services is recruiting to backfill an engineer position within our Dublin workshop. The workshop engineer will be part of a team responsible for managing the repair of devices returned to the workshop by our customers. The technician will provide technical assistance to customers, field engineers, and the sales team. The technician will communicate with the customer via telephone, email, or face-to-face where necessary. Additionally, pre-delivery inspection of devices will be undertaken by the workshop team.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical support to customers (both technical and non-technical), field service engineers, clinical support, and our sales team.
2. Attend internal and manufacturer’s training courses, which may require travel outside of the country annually.
3. Liaise and communicate with suppliers to help resolve problems or report incidents/issues requiring manufacturer input.
4. Manage stock and perform administrative tasks.
5. Be part of the workshop team, responsible for completing tasks allocated, following processes and procedures recommended by the original manufacturer.
6. Ensure all activity is recorded on our Service Management system.
Role Requirements:
1. The ideal candidate will have a third-level qualification in biomedical engineering, electronics, electrical engineering, or applied science.
2. Good aptitude for electronic circuits and soldering techniques is required.
3. Proficient computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
4. Ability to work on own initiative and also effectively in teams.
5. Previous experience in a customer support role is advantageous.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
7. Ability to understand and follow manuals, work instructions, and related information.
8. Ability to understand, implement, and maintain quality standards set by Cardiac Services and the equipment manufacturer.
9. Knowledge of basic computer technology, PC repair, and networking is advantageous but not essential.
