We are currently recruiting a Commercial Accountant in Tralee, Co. Kerry, reporting to the Financial Controller, you will focus on financial planning and weekly commercial reporting, turning operational data into clear financial insight to support decision-making and improve margin, cash flow, and risk management across projects. This is a permanent position, based in Tralee, County Kerry. Key Responsibilities Prepare weekly commercial Profit & Loss reports for senior management. Produce and review project costings and weekly labour allocations. Reconcile weekly operational reports to monthly financial results, identifying and explaining variances and implementing corrective actions. Support financial planning and analysis through data modelling, research, and strategic insight. Assist with project performance analysis, validation of business plans, and ad-hoc financial requests. Produce weekly headcount reporting and workforce analysis. Support the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. Manage revenue recognition and accrued income in line with commercial agreements and accounting policies. Contribute to month-end close activities, including preparation of reports, KPIs, and management dashboards. Work closely with the Commercial Team to align financial outcomes with business strategy and long-term objectives. Use data analytics to identify risks, opportunities, and performance improvement areas. Maintain strong internal controls and ensure timely resolution of finance queries with appropriate audit trails. Support continuous improvement initiatives through process optimisation, Excel modelling, AI tools, and system enhancements. Skills & Experience Qualified Accountant with relevant experience in a commercial or analytical finance role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data. Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills; ERP system experience advantageous. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with accuracy. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. Salary is in the region of €50 - €75,000 based on experiences and qualifications.
