Software Development Engineer II, Network Operations Automation
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment, ensuring continuous access to our customers. We work on challenging problems with many variables impacting the supply chain and seek talented individuals to join us.
You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and others. Your role involves collaborating across AWS to uphold safety and security standards while providing extensive capacity at low costs. AWS customers rely on our network for their businesses, expecting it to be near-perfect. Our Network Services team automates millions of daily operations for the world's most powerful network, building a safe, efficient, and automated operations platform.
As a software engineer, you will develop complex web applications and workflow engines at a large scale, enabling customers to simplify the internet, automate network remediation and deployment, and enhance performance. You will help define product direction, iterate rapidly, and contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment that values self-investment.
Key job responsibilities
* Develop world-class tools to maximize network availability, collaborating with Network Engineering and Operations teams to automate operations and invent new solutions for Amazon's Next-Generation Network.
* Contribute to the development of dynamic network automation tools and automate physical remediation processes used by network engineers and Data Center Operators.
* Create and review software design documentation and mentor junior engineers.
* Work with Network Engineering teams to ensure smooth rollout of new designs and products.

Minimum qualifications
* Experience (non-internship) in professional software development.
* Experience designing or architecting systems, including patterns, reliability, and scalability.
* Proficiency in at least one programming language.
Educational requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
