Electrical Design Engineer – Mercury

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring technical compliance on all assigned projects.
Managing scope of works for electrical packages.
Managing consultant selections and agreeing RACI matrices.
Attending design team meetings, in person or via Teams.
Aligning design programmes with planning teams.
Reviewing client responsibility matrices and ensuring alignment with project/commercial teams.
Managing RIBA3‑5 design processes and procedures.
Producing design management plans for projects.
Implementing Central engineering checklists on each project.
Designing for safe manufacturing assembly when required.
Managing trackers from project start to handover, including procurement schedule, technical submittal register (CSA), drawing register (CSA), RFI log, deviation tracker, lessons learned log, and design change log.
Monitoring schedules and trackers throughout the project cycle.
Carrying out technical submittal and working drawing reviews with teams on a scheduled basis.
Assisting with workload on projects (technical submittals, drawing reviews, RFIs, etc.).
Reviewing orders to ensure best pricing and value engineering opportunities.
Ensuring compliance with ISO19650 requirements.
Producing and issuing project reports to direct manager at agreed periods.
Assisting with tenders for new projects.
Supporting the estimating department and PE‑construction team when required.
Setting up the value engineering log for the DC & BS group.
Attending Central Engineering Stage 5 weekly model review meetings.
Conducting lessons learned reviews at design stage.
Coaching graduate engineers on technical subs, drawing production, RFIs, and client interactions.
Visiting project sites across Europe as necessary.
Participating in monthly Central Engineering F2F meetings.

Essential Criteria

Third level qualification in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Design Engineering.
At least 3 years of experience on large industrial plant projects.
Proficiency in electrical design package/software.
Excellent communication skills.
Pride in producing high‑quality, well‑presented work.
Ability to work from our Dublin headquarters.

Desirable Criteria

Experience working on datacentres.
