Kitchen Porter - Gourmet Food Parlour, Salthill (Galway)
Gourmet Food Parlour is looking for a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team in Salthill, Galway. This is a multisite role, with shifts split between our Salthill restaurant and our Catering Unit in Briar Hill.
As an essential member of our kitchen team, you'll play a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation - helping to keep our busy kitchens running smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
* Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
* Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and work areas.
* Manage waste and recycling in line with company policies.
* Assist with receiving and organising deliveries, ensuring all items are checked and stored correctly.
* Tidy and organise food storage areas, ensuring everything is clearly labelled and properly rotated.
* Date-label produce and manage stock using the FIFO (First In, First Out) system.
* Support chefs with basic food preparation tasks when required.
* Ensure equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
* Follow all health and safety and food hygiene procedures.
* Work as part of a team to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
Requirements
* Previous experience working in a professional kitchen.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Flexibility to work weekends and busy periods.
* Must hold a valid EU passport or work permit/visa.
* Must be able to speak English.
* HACCP knowledge is an advantage.
