Senior IT Engineer CREGG are currently hiring a Senior IT Engineer a leading global supplier of tooling solutions based in Co. Clare. The Senior IT Engineer is responsible for the on-site installation, maintenance, and support of the companys IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networking, and telecommunications systems. They also ensure compliance with SOX requirements and provide timely support to end users. Primary Responsibilities Back-up systems daily. Update security software daily. Provides internal departments with hardware and software end-user technical support and user training, where necessary e.g. induction of new employees. Responds to the needs and questions of network users concerning access and provides helpdesk type advice and support, to users. Installs and tests software upgrades. Works completely independently and has significant latitude to solve problems. Has complete understanding of infrastructure, diagnosis; resolves faults and operates systems. Administration and support of all Windows based server systems, in accordance with Company standards. Management of Active Directory and ERP System account setup and access. Communicates with other departments to report and give updates in relation to software, hardware and operations problems. Communicates with external IT team on any upcoming changes or requirements in relation to IT equipment, systems, or accounts. Monitors and controls the security access of the Information Systems. Participate in procurement of hardware and software. Be able to track issues, prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines. Compile documentation on solutions through our ticketing system. Ensure all changes strictly adhere to company policies and procedures. Administration of SOX procedures in relation to IT systems. Technical Skills: The Network Administrator will ideally possess a combination of the following technical skills and experiences: Dell PC Hardware, Windows 2012 Server, Windows 11/10, Data Storage, Active Directory, SCCM, SQL Server, experience in both onsite and remote support skills Qualifications & Experience Required Degree in information Systems essential. Network maintenance and support experience are desirable. Good knowledge of all MS Windows operating systems Must have the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and isolate problems using all available resources. Experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage. Have effective communication skills including written, verbal, and interpersonal and be able to communicate at all levels. Good customer interfacing skills, responsive to customer needs, Enthusiastic, self-starter who works in a proactive manner, providing solutions. The ideal candidate will be motivated, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Good knowledge of LAN/WAN/wireless technologies Be familiar with Anti Virus solutions, installation, and maintenance. Knowledge of VB and SQL will be advantageous. Always maintain confidentiality.
