Job Title: Genomics Research Coordinator – Recruitment
Department: School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences
Reporting to: Dr Edmund Gilbert
Contract / Duration: Part‑time (24 months) or Full‑time (12 months)
Remuneration: Up to €55,978 full‑time, pro‑rated for part‑time
Closing Date: 9:00 AM on Thursday 21 May 2026
Responsibilities
Manage data of potential participants registering their interest in the Genome of Ireland project and identify their availability for recruitment.
Identify and organise suitable venues for in‑person recruitment across Ireland.
Contact registered participants, obtain informed consent and collect blood samples for DNA.
Collect and upload recruitment data to the central Genome of Ireland participant database.
Ship biological samples to the RCSI Biobank Service in Dublin.
Represent RCSI, funding stakeholders and collaborators professionally at all times.
Uphold health and safety standards and procedures as required.
Carry out administrative duties and complete required training.
Perform additional related tasks as required.
Qualifications – Essential
Nursing degree or equivalent.
Phlebotomy training and experience.
Valid Irish driving licence and a car.
Previous experience in a research environment, including recruitment of participants.
Previous experience as a research nurse.
Experience of counselling in genetics settings and working in genomics research.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a team.
Strong communication skills.
