As part of the audio software global development team at Qualcomm, you will work with an international team of hardware, systems, and software engineers to develop and integrate cutting‑edge audio technology on platforms powered by Qualcomm SoCs. The Linux audio software team drives the feature design, development, integration, and commercialization of audio software and applications on Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. We seek passionate, ambitious, and technically gifted software engineers to develop embedded audio and voice software for smartphones, smart speakers, smart assistants, smart media boxes, and other smart devices in the mobile, compute, connectivity, automotive, and IoT product spaces. Qualcomm also open‑sources the AudioReach TM SDK to grow a community‑sponsored project. This role requires five days per week onsite in our Cork office.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.2+ years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.Preferred QualificationsEmbedded System Development ExperienceExperienced in developing and debugging software on ARM running Linux or Zephyr.Understanding of power and performance considerations on embedded systems, particularly with respect to ARM Linux and DSP platforms.Experience in Linux kernel and/or Zephyr architecture and device driver development, debugging, and upstreaming.Multimedia/Audio ExperienceFamiliar with multimedia frameworks such as Pipewire and ALSA.Knowledge of audio usage models including playback, recording, voice activation, voice call, and audio context detection.Familiarity with standard audio bus interfaces (I2S, TDM, SoundWire).Experience with driver development for audio mixed‑signal peripherals (CODEC, speaker amp, digital microphone).LocationCork is Ireland's second largest economic engine and a top 20 European location with excellent quality of life.
