Nazareth Care Mission and Values
Our Mission is to continue the work and legacy of the Sisters of Nazareth. The core values are Hospitality, Compassion, Respect, Love, and Justice. Every management or leadership position ensures the delivery of these values both operationally and strategically. The entire organisation supports caring for people, with everyone considered a “caregiver”. The Mission Director supports staff across disciplines to live the Mission and Values.
Key Responsibilities of the Mission Director
1. Mission promotion Understand and promote the Mission and Values to staff and advocates; communicate and animate leadership; integrate the Mission into services; develop local Mission Bearer teams; embed training into induction; investigate e‑learning; develop strategies for integration; collaborate with HR; report monthly to the CEO.
2. Education and Training Develop and deliver orientation and training programmes on the Mission, Values, Catholic ethos, and compassionate care; educate staff on the Congregation’s history; embed the spirit of Victoire Larmenier; provide resources for spiritual and professional development; promote social justice initiatives; oversee pastoral care to residents, families, and staff.
4. Leadership Collaborate with leadership to ensure mission alignment in decision‑making; participate in the senior leadership team; support managers in ethical decision‑making; develop structures and policies for compliance with ethical and regulatory requirements.
5. Community Engagement Foster relationships with local parishes, Dioceses, and Catholic organisations; represent the organisation at community events and public forums.
6. Accountability Serve the Board’s Mission and Ethics Subcommittee; report achievements, priorities, and initiatives; work with fellow Mission Directors to share resources; respond to Sisters’ requests.
Qualifications and Personal Attributes

Strong understanding of the Mission, Values and ethos of the Sisters.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
Demonstrated commitment to the Mission and Values of the Sisters.
Ability to develop and present educational content relevant to the Mission function.
Desirable: Qualification in Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field.
Desirable: Experience in a leadership role within a faith‑based or healthcare organisation.
Preferred placement: Regional Office in Dublin 3, with countrywide travel required.
