Job Title: Meetings and Events Porter at The Salthill Hotel
The Salthill Hotel is seeking a dedicated Meetings and Events Porter. The M&E porter ensures that meeting and function rooms are prepared to the highest standards following the hotel's SOPs. Additionally, porters maintain cleanliness in front of house areas and toilets, greet guests courteously, and handle luggage and personal belongings with care and security.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Arrive punctually dressed in a clean full uniform.
2. Review the function list for the day's events and coordinate with the Duty Manager on setups.
3. Clean and set up meeting rooms, replenish supplies, and operate heating systems as needed, maintaining company standards.
4. Follow cleaning protocols for front of house areas and toilets, with regular checks and sign-offs.
5. Replace blown bulbs outside maintenance hours and report faults immediately.
6. Maintain constant communication via pager.
7. Assist guests with luggage, greeting them courteously.
8. Keep the porter’s cupboard tidy, maintaining cleaning equipment safely and securely.
9. Manage curtains, furniture arrangement, and extra chairs during busy periods.
10. Participate in training sessions and meetings as required.
11. Adhere to all company standards and health and safety procedures.
12. Support reception, housekeeping, and restaurant staff as needed.
13. Keep corridors, fire exits, staircases, and cupboards clear of obstructions.
14. Familiarize with all hotel facilities and promote them proactively.
Skills and Knowledge:
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent verbal communication skills for interacting with staff, guests, and service providers.
* Capability to work effectively under pressure.
* Ideally, 6 months to 1 year of experience in a similar role.
