Overview:
PFH Technology is partnering directly with a Dublin based Client who seeks an experienced
Database Systems Administrator (DBA)
with
7+ years of enterprise experience
to design, support, and modernize complex database environments. This role focuses on
SQL Server administration
,
legacy system re-engineering
, and
cloud migration
within large-scale, mission-critical systems.
Mandatory Requirements
* 7+ years' experience as a
Database Administrator / Database Systems Administrator
* Professional certification in
Microsoft SQL Server
Key Responsibilities
* Design, administer, and optimize
SQL Server databases
(performance, security, reliability, availability)
* Support the
full SDLC
: database design, development, testing, deployment, and support
* Re-architect and refactor
legacy database systems
for modern platforms
* Develop database solutions using
SQL Server, SSRS, and Microsoft Access
* Manage
backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and data security
* Troubleshoot database issues, performance bottlenecks, and system changes
* Produce
technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational guides
* Define database schemas, tables, permissions, and user access controls
Skills & Experience
* Strong experience with
SQL Server (2000–2019+)
, Oracle, Microsoft Access, and legacy databases
* Hands-on experience with
cloud migration
, database modernization, and re-engineering
* Experience
reverse-engineering and documenting legacy systems
* Strong understanding of
data integrity, concurrency, performance tuning, and security
* Experience working in
cross-functional agile teams
(Business Analysts, Developers, Project Managers)
* Background supporting
large enterprise or public-sector systems
is highly desirable
