The James is a boutique style townhouse hotel located in Tralee, Co Kerry. We are currently inviting applications for experienced Food and Beverage Assistants, Bar Staff and Mixologists to join our team. We have part-time and full-time positions available on rostered basis, which includes weekends and evening shifts. The James has a variety of different styles of bedrooms, a restaurant and a bar - Bridge Lane.
Candidate should have at least 2 years experience working in a busy bar and restaurant.
Bridge Lane is a fast-paced and busy venue situated on Bridge Street in Tralee town, where both locals and tourists alike socialise.
This is a fast-paced working environment with an emphasis on teamwork and a good relationship between all of our staff.
Bridge Lane is currently recruiting F&B Assistants, Bar Staff and Mixologists to join the team.
Please note this position is strictly only open to over 18 years of age due to the service of alcohol.
The successful candidate will have:

Responsibilities:
* Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for our patrons.
* Passionate about delivering a high level of customer service.
* Maintain standards in accordance with our brand.
* Processing orders through the till system.
* Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies. e.g. preparing garnishes, refilling ice wells and general stocking duties.
* Clean utensils and bar equipment such as glasses, drip trays and bar counters etc.
* Remove used glasses from bar counters and ensuring they are placed in the correct trays to be washed.
* Sweep up any broken glass and dispose of in the correct bins.
* Attend to spillages quickly and efficiently.
* Provide customers with information regarding live music.
* To ensure the complete satisfaction of each guest.
* To be helpful and work in contact with other departments.
* Ensure restaurant/bar area is always kept clean and tidy.
* To read, understand and comply with your responsibilities as defined in the Health and Safety Statement and Staff Handbook.
* To comply with all reasonable requests by Management.
* Maintain a professional and respectful attitude and behaviour to guests, colleagues, management.
* Learning restaurant's table plan.
* Deliver trays to the appropriate station and ensure that the plates are served in a timely manner.
* The ideal candidate will use their initiative to complete any tasks as they see them.
Role
* Greet and escort customers to their tables
* Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g., about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
* Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses
* Inform customers about the day's specials
* Offer menu recommendations upon request
* Up-sell additional products when appropriate
* Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software
* Check customers' IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
* Communicate precisely with Kitchen Staff
* Serve food and drink orders
* Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
* Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
* Deliver checks and collect bill payments
* Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
* Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g. parties, VIP)
* Follow all relevant health department regulations
* Provide excellent customer service to guests
