This role involves working within the Global Strategic Remediation Oversight and Governance (SROG) team, reporting to the Remediation Validation Testing Manager. The successful candidate will have expertise in financial risk, assurance, and validation testing activities, helping to design and establish methodologies for validation of remediation activities, including those mandated by regulators and internal audits.
The candidate will interact with senior management across Northern Trust and will execute the remediation quality control/validation testing plan, ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations and translating requirements into a balanced validation program. The role requires subject matter expertise and rigorous execution to manage issue validation and testing activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Leadership:
* Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership to influence stakeholders
* Build strong relationships with key stakeholders
* Display presentation and influence skills
Technical / Operational:
* Design and implement validation methodologies and processes
* Execute validation activities for regulatory and audit issues
* Identify risks, plan validation tasks, and document processes
* Review remediation deliverables for quality and sustainability
* Manage validation projects ensuring timely and accurate delivery
* Understand business risks, controls, and relevant laws
* Communicate issues and escalate as needed
* Stay current on regulatory changes
Skills/Experience:
* Several years in financial services, auditing, risk management, or consultancy
* Deep knowledge of financial risk and compliance
* Strong analytical and organizational skills
* Effective communication skills
* Professional certifications (CPA, CISA, CIA, MBA, JD, etc.) and technical expertise
* Experience in designing internal testing programs
* Ability to implement validation strategies aligned with organizational risk profiles
* Strong initiative, decision-making, and cultural sensitivity
