We are currently recruiting for a Packaging Engineer to join our West Galway team on a 6-month contract and play a key role in optimizing our manual and automated packaging and visual inspection lines across high‑end pharmaceutical/medical device platforms.
Responsibilities
Boost OEE and operator availability across packaging and visual inspection operations.Lead process improvements for manual, semi‑automatic, and automated inspection equipment.Partner with leading suppliers (Optel, Marchesini, Brevetti, Mettler Toledo, Mikron, Harro Hofliger, etc.).Deliver equipment reliability through preventative maintenance, root cause analysis, and technical problem‑solving.Lead or support capital equipment projects and continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, SMED, FMEA).Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams.Ensure compliance with GMP and quality systems, managing CAPAs, IRs, and documentation.
Requirements
Degree in mechanical, mechatronics, packaging, or related engineering field.Strong experience with packaging technologies and automation systems.Proven knowledge of GMP, quality systems, and continuous improvement tools.Excellent communication and project management skills.Proficiency in Power BI, SAP, and MS Office.
