We are seeking an enthusiastic Day Time Chef to join our dynamic Carewswood Cafe Team. The restaurant is located within an Old Walled Garden alongside the Garden centre and gift shop in Castlemartyr. The fast-paced cafe operates at daytime hours seven days a week and combines three dining areas that offer family friendly dining experience. The perfect candidate should have a passion for food and delivering delicious meals and snacks for our customers to enjoy.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to meet the standards of our establishment. you will collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen, uphold food quality, and contribute to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook dishes according to the established recipes and standards of the restaurant.
* Handle a specific section of the kitchen, such as sauces, grill, pastry, or others, ensuring all items are prepared, cooked, and presented consistently and efficiently.
* Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to sanitation and safety guidelines at all times.
* Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during peak hours and special events.
* Manage inventory and assist in ordering supplies to ensure adequate stock levels for the assigned section.
* Monitor food wastage and take proactive measures to minimize it, while maintaining food quality standards.
* Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
* Adhere to food cost control measures and portion control guidelines.
* Uphold high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Proven experience as a Chef in a similar role within a reputable establishment.
* Profound knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and food presentation.
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, especially in a team-oriented setting.
* Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure during busy service periods.
* Attention to detail and commitment to delivering consistently high-quality dishes.
* Familiarity with health and safety regulations and practices.
* Flexibility in schedule, including weekends and holidays.
